Win a Haynes Build Your Own Internal Combustion Engine

The ultimate gift for car enthusiasts and budding petrol heads

You can build a cool working engine featuring a real engine roar with the authentic Haynes Build Your Own Engine set. The models are the ultimate gifts for dads and petrol heads – ideal for the man who has it all.

I have one set to giveaway! See the bottom of this post for more details and how to enter.

How amazing would it be to construct a fully working model of a petrol car engine with ignition sound and illuminating spark plugs? The model is fun to put together and the kit contains all the tools you’ll need. There are over 100 parts to assemble the working model. It comes complete with its very own Haynes Manual, giving clear step-by-step instructions.

Created by Haynes, the world’s leading publisher and retailer of car and motorcycle manuals, each model includes a Haynes Manual.  Featuring easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions and a guide to the working principles of the engine, the Build Your Own engine models are designed to be fun to put together. Building the models also teaches you how full-size engines work in real vehicles.

The satisfaction you get from switching on the engine and hearing it roar with realistic sound is indescribable. The Haynes Build Your Own Engines offer hours of fun and the range has been awarded with a Dad’s Choice and Creative Play Award.

Please note that this is a model and not a real engine, no matter how real those sounds are! Check out the questions in the Amazon listing for the V8 model if you fancy a giggle.

Wow. This is really sexist. I saw it and thought it would be a perfect project for Mummy and the kids now that the 22 bag Lego set is complete. Then I read the write up. This should be targeted at everyone who is mechanically minded, not just Dads and boys.
