We love travelling, even (especially?) with our children, and we have visited lots of lovely places around the world, including Cuba and Canada, Nice and North America, Tunisia and Turkey, and many places in between.
We have a huge list of places we’d love to go to, and here are the top three destinations on our travel bucket list:
The sheer variety of activities and sights to see in South Africa is astounding, and definitely one of the reasons I’d love to visit. We’d love to ride a cable car up Table Mountain, see a five game safari, take in the scenery on the Garden Route, and of course go diving with seal lions and sharks in amazing waters. And, tasting South African wine in the country it was grown and made in!
I’ve wanted to go to the Galapagos since I was about nine or ten years old, thanks to this song that informed me of the giant tortoises. While on a dive boat many years later I watched a video of Jacques Cousteau actually riding those tortoises (can you imagine?!) and also saw the amazing sea life around the islands. Naturally, if we ever make it, we won’t be interfering with nature in such a crazy way as Cousteau, but I’d love to get right there in amongst all that beauty.
About seven or eight years ago Rob and I did a road trip around California, across to the Grand Canyon from Los Angeles, up to Las Vegas and through the Yosemite National Park to San Francisco where we visited with friends. We took in the Nappa Valley and Sonoma, Alcatraz and saw the city’s amazing shifting fog. Then we drove down the PCH to LA via an-unlikely-to-ever-be-repeated messy couple of days with a random Harley Davidson biker we’d met the week previously near the beginning of our trip. I would so love to revisit this destination. It’s high on my bucket list because of the glorious scenery, the contrast of cities to wilderness, and the wonderful people we met along the way.
