Playgrounds in North Tyneside – Links Road Playsite

Yesterday we visited Churchill Playing Fields as part of our local playground challenge, today we went to Links Road Playsite. This is at the back of the field near to the mini Sainsburys and Mr Woods on the Broadway in Cullercoats. We continue our mission to visit all the parks in North Tyneside this year. We are not doing all that well – too many holidays! And we’ve been spending time (wasting time?) visiting the same parks repeatedly, including this one.

Links Road Playsite is one of our favourite parks, and go here quite often for a play with James’ friends. As such, I tend to not take photos because I’m busy, and James is having a good time!

Today we were more wrapped up than yesterday – new hats and gloves at the ready. Noah was snuggled in his cosy Out ‘n’ About foot muff and both boys are sporting new hats from Sainsburys.

Today the biggest draw was the roundabout, which James and another James spun around and around on for close to thirty minutes!!

They took short breaks for whizzing down the bumpy slide, and climbing up the ‘big’ slide. north tyneside playground link road slide

Then more spinning!

Eventually the other James had to leave and so James and I went on the seesaw.

After which, James said he was ready to go, but first he needed a play in the sand. I’m afraid I got a bit absorbed in trying to settle Noah – the poor baby has had no nap today, and not for lack of trying, it has just been too exciting today! He can’t sleep and miss it!north tyneside playground link road sand pit

And so when I next watched James, I realised he’d taken his shoes and socks off, and was rolling around in the sand, making angels.

He was having a lovely time! He started to climb up the ropes but didn’t get very far. Then he picked two special stones and said he was ready to leave.

A fabulous hour and a half play in the Link Road playground. Where next will we visit in our challenge to see all the North Tyneside playgrounds this year?
