Have you heard of the app Mush? It’s like Tinder for mums in that it helps parents build new connections. You get to connect with, talk to, and meet other mums nearby for coffee (or wine), playdates in the park, or suffering through soft play together. Because the whole parenting thing is a lot easier when you’re not doing it alone.
You may have read my thoughts on how isolating maternity leave can be. That’s why I’d like to support this fantastic app.
Pip Milburn, local vlogger, is holding 2 Tyne and Wear mummy meet ups at the end of May for mums to be and mums with babies and children up to preschool age.
Meet with other like-minded mums
Over to Pippa to tell you all about the meet ups:
I’m helping to launch the app Mush in the North East and I’m hoping to make some new friends along the way. The idea behind the meet up is for mums to meet other like minded mums that they have never met before, everyone is in the same boat and looking to make a new friend.
This is the little video I have made about Mush, why I got involved and about the meet ups
Meet-ups in North Shields in May
I have arranged two meet-ups in May, both in North Shields, North Tyneside.
A walk in the park and picnic – 22nd May
The first one is a walk in the park and picnic on Monday 22nd May at West End Park in North Shields. We are going to meet outside the Riverside children’s centre at 10:50am. Maddy from Slinga Fitness will be leading the walk and will be on hand to offer advice on how to keep fit with your little one.
Birth, Baby & Family Centre – 24th May
The second meet up will be on Wednesday 24th May, 1pm at the Birth and Baby Family Centre on George Street in North Shields. There will be free tea, coffee and cake, an abundance of toys and activities from newborn up to preschool aged children and a baby sensory den for mums with babies. Janine Rudin, an experience parenting specialist, will also be on hand to offer advice and support on all things parenting.
Would you be interested in attending? Then download the app and get involved.
Here’s a map in case you’re not sure where either place is.
