Lamaze Freddie the Firefly giveaway

Lamaze Freddie the Firefly giveaway

We’ve been having such a bug-tacular time recently!

We had a brilliant time at the Great North Museum; their new Spineless exhibition is fantastic.

The exhibition runs from 1 August to 1 November, so you’ve plenty of time to visit if you’re in the North East!  spineless exhibition great north museum toddler insect

You may remember that James wasn’t super keen on bugs at the start of summer, and we came up with a fun way of helping him want to discover mini-beasts – I gave him a spray bottle while we were in the garden!

The excitement with which he approached the ladybirds at Chirk Castle made me think it’s worked!  chirk castle national trust ladybird
We also walked into (and parked the car in) a horrible cloud of corn flies at John Willie Sams playsite in our tour of the playgrounds in North Tyneside. Yuck!

Meanwhile we have been carrying round a friendly invertebrate for a while. Freddie the Firefly is one of Noah’s favourite toys, and the sight of his little face really puts a smile on Noah’s.

We’ve got one of the brilliant Lamaze fireflies to giveaway – don’t worry, it’s not the dog eared one we’ve dropped in the dirt and washed 🙂

Just tell me if you love or loathe mini-beasts (and why!) in a comment below. This is the only mandatory way to enter, but there are other ways to enter to give you more chances to win. If you choose to just leave a comment, please still click to enter via Gleam or your comment won’t be counted!

  36. September 2, 2015 / 11:26 pm

I’m petrified of anything that creeps or crawls…yuk! I think it stems from once getting into bed as a child and feeling a huge spider crawling up my leg – makes me feel sick just thinking about it!

  37. September 3, 2015 / 8:41 am

i dont like spiders but im ok with everything else x

  38. September 4, 2015 / 8:34 pm

Don’t mind spiders, or moths, but really am not keen on daddylonglegs. Just yuck! Not sure why. Don’t really like slugs either, but that’s because they eat unguarded seedlings.

I hate most bugs! I like snails and Ladybirds.. but still wouldnt let them crawl on me!

  45. September 11, 2015 / 12:18 am

I don’t mind bugs, really. Big spiders can make my skin crawl but other than that I am fine. I think it’s important to show your little ones that there is nothing to be scared of so then they don’t have that irrational bug fear too and you certainly don’t want a squisher!

  46. September 11, 2015 / 7:13 pm

I like bugs dont mind at all spiders im still dealing with

  47. Rebecca Smith

  53. Victoria Prince
