KidloLand is a fantastic app aimed at children aged 0 – 5 years. It includes 490+ nursery rhymes, songs and educational games so whenever they play there are new things to see! It is also an app that will grow with the child as what grabs them at a young age will likely change as they get older. My sons love to play the KidloLand app – it’s full of nursery rhymes and activities to captivate and teach, as well as entertain.
I don’t really feel like I need to limit or control iPad time for my children as I see it as a great resource for learning. They also don’t play every day or for very long, and we often play on the iPad together, a bit like reading a story together. However, the iPad does often come in handy during long journeys or while we’re waiting for something (like at the dentists) and I think this app is great for such occasions.
There is so much for children to do and learn on this app such as phonics, nursery rhymes, Old MacDonald songs, animals, numbers, colours, shapes and much more.
Until very recently Noah has paid absolutely no mind at all to the iPad. He’s only just started to watch the TV because he prefers real toys and books. But this app actually grabbed his attention. Maybe it’s the bright colours. His favourite is Incy Wincy Spider (though this app is American with the ‘wrong’ spellings and Itsy Bitsy Spider instead).
When you first get started with the app there are only a few nursery rhymes and activities ready to play. You need to download the rest. After you’ve done this you can use the app without an internet connection, which is great for journeys and holidays.
The nursery rhymes on the app are interactive, so as well as watching and listening to the songs, the kids were able to click on things and really get involved. Sometimes this causes a bit of a problem because James will sidle up while Noah is watching a nursery rhyme and quickly tap the spider “hey!” shouts Noah, with good right, while James smiles a little innocent smile.
And as if all this wasn’t enough, more content is added each month!
You can download the KidloLand app from the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store (Nursery Rhymes For Kids), or the Amazon Appstore and costs £27.99 for a year-long subscription.
KidloLand are giving away a three month subscription to the app for five of my readers.
