Jesmond Dene before the jungle!

Jesmond Dene before the jungle!

Rob had Tuesday as a day off this week. He usually has a Monday off, so it was quite nice for him to be involved with our Tuesday routine! Every Tuesday, at about 20 minutes before it ends, I remember that there’s a Come and Play session at our local children’s centre, so we never go there!

We go to Artventurers every Tuesday, and either before or after we go for a run around somewhere.

Rob wanted to go to the beach, but honestly, by the time we’ve got James dressed, Noah fed, James downstairs, Noah changed, Rob dressed, etc etc, we had run out of time to go there before Artventurers. So we headed to Jesmond Dene. Rob had never been there before! Can you believe a Geordie, born and bred, had never been to Jesmond Dene?!

We got James out of the car, into his wellies, and asked him to stand still while we got Noah in the sling. Do you think he wanted to stand still?!

There were some fantastic puddles around.

After a while we went to show Daddy the animals in Pets Corner. James loved the ducks.

But mostly he looked pretty melancholy because he couldn’t find any berries, as he’d enjoyed last time we were there.

After a good run around in the play area, we went to the café for a lovely bowl of warming soup.

Then on to Artventurers!
James loves Artventurers, though he calls it “play time”. This week there was a jungle theme. We made a very sad-looking lion and a snake.

James enjoyed cutting all the sparkley sheets to stick on the snake. This was the first week he seems to have twigged that he needs to put glue under the things he wants to go on.

We also made a jungle shaker, but accidentally left it there. It was full of straws that janes snipped up with scissors. He is really enjoying learning just how to control scissors. Sometimes he wakes up in the morning and asks for his scissors right away!

Haha, I should’ve been sticking Noah in the sling, not taking photos, but it was too funny to resist!

Fantastic! James told a random man that he’d got a sticker from you today. The man was like, “who’s Emily?” but James just patted his sticker and nodded 🙂
          See you next week! x
