We went to Gibside today, while it was free! They were taking part in the Heritage Open Day this weekend.

It was fabulous weather; really great for a mid-September day.

They have a brilliant adventure playground that would’ve kept James occupied for much longer if we’d needed it to.

The crypt was open especially for the heritage open day. It was cool and quiet in there, and everyone started whispering about why they were whispering! Very funny.

We had a wonderful day and even spotted some dragonflies. Fabulous.

You really can’t beat Gibside for a family day out – we stayed in the yurts there this summer and had an AMAZING time. It is such a huge place you could easily spend a week here and not get bored #LoveNorthEast
