I sometimes feel it’s a bit difficult for grown-ups to get in the festive spirit. We have the realisation of how much it’s possible to spend on Christmas, and we have to pay those bills, too. Also, we’re often stuck at work while our little ones have nativity plays at school.
Children have so many more opportunities to get excited, and we have a duty, almost, to create this magical event each year. I have to say, I’m quite restrained with the elements of Christmas I have introduced, but somethings you can’t avoid, and are absolute must-dos.
Crackers, silly party hats, and of course mince pies are all essentials. Advent calendars to countdown to the big day. And crafting – Christmas seems to be very heavy on the crafting element, which is perfect for James who loves a good sticking and cutting session!
Let’s not forget the terrible jokes: here are two to get you started!
Who hides in the bakery at Christmas?
A mince spy!
What athlete is warmest in winter?
A long jumper!
Don’t forget to head over to Jet2holidays.com/advent to enter to win every day in the countdown to Christmas. Good luck!
Jet2 sent a lovely hamper for us in exchange for telling you about the advent competition! All words and opinions are mine - check out my full disclosure policy.
