Noah is obviously doing very well on my milk. He is growing well, and we are getting plenty of dirty and wet nappies. Last night he slept from 10pm to 4:30am, so he is obviously satisfied with my milk too.
The advice has been to feed and pump after Noah has fed, which is advice I’ve followed where I can.
His latch is still poor, but he is improving. He still stops feeding for a while if I take him off when his latch is appalling and painful. It’s quite funny to see a stubborn newborn.
On Monday I was prescribed another course of antibiotics as the lump in my breast hasn’t gone. The skin of my breast is still red and hot.
I was referred to the breast clinic and had my first appointment this morning. I had an ultra sound, which showed no collection of pus. If there had been a pouch of pus there, it would’ve been easy to treat, according to the consultant, because they could’ve put a needle in and drained it out.
So, for now, we have to wait for the antibiotics to work. I’ll go back to see the consultant in the breast clinic next week.
I can’t feel Christmassy yet!
