Arbonne ABC – Review

Arbonne ABC – Review

Not too long ago we were given the opportunity to test out some Arbonne ABC Baby Care products

Arbonne is a company established in Switzerland more than 30 years ago, and they’re a fast growing business. They operate a bit like Avon, and the representative I met with, Victoria, was absolutely lovely. She’s so passionate and knows all there is to know about each of the products, so you feel confident you’ve got the right fit for you.

For the purposes of this review I was given four products from the ABC range to test with the boys: a sunscreen; a body wash; body lotion; and nappy cream.

I used the sunscreen a couple of times. I’m torn between making sure we get vitamin d and not exposing baby skin to sun damage. So occasionally I’ll slap on some ‘mayonnaise’ as our Egyptian friends call it, and know that the gorgeous  bright sunshine isn’t going to cause problems.

I found the sunscreen to be really difficult to rub in without making James cry out, so he went outside looking a bit ghostly, if I’m honest. (I didn’t use the sunscreen on Noah. It isn’t recommended to use sunscreen on babies under the age of six months without doctor approval). But it did keep him from being burned and that’s what you’re after in a sunscreen really, isn’t it?! He’s had super sensitive skin since Mexico last year, but with this being all nice and natural, there was no issue with his face the next day.

I’m a bit of a sucker for natural products for the boys. Victoria assured me the Arbonne toiletries fit the bill. I also like one product to use top-to-toe (take two bottles into the shower?! Not me!)  and this suits that need as well.

The ABC Hair and Body Wash has a very subtle fragrance. Actually I couldn’t smell it the first couple of times I used it, until one day Rob did bath time and I wandered in part way through, and I smelled the sandalwood.

I didn’t like that the bottle is ‘upside down’ as I’m used to a bottle with a cap on the top, or occasionally a pump dispenser. I had to lie the tube down between squeezes, and I just am not used to that. I’m sure I’d get used to it, or if you’d never used anything else, it would be fine.

It lathers well, although I used more of this than I usually use of our regular body wash. I have read other reviews that said they use less of this than their usual product… Maybe we all need to reveal what we normally use so that readers can judge!

Again, the smell was really subtle. All Arbonne products only contain natural fragrances so will not cause you any irritation like other products that smell and have predominately artificial fragrances, which are a very common irritant!
The ABC Nappy Cream was ideal for wiping on thickly for the final nappy of the day. James woke up each morning we used it with a peachy bum! It’s a thin cream, much runnier consistency than we are used to, but it does the job, it seems! I liked how easy it was to get the nappy cream out of the tube. Some products have very stiff tubes, but this was easily squeezed.

If you would like to buy some of the products I tried then you can buy them on the website http://www.arbonne.com/pws/victoriaanderson/tabs/home.aspx  using Victoria’s ID code which is 441208159.

Disclosure : I was sent some Arbonne products for the purpose of this review, however all words and opinions are my own.

Such a lovely and honest review – the dilemma over sunscreen is a tricky one (and still one I don’t know the answer to)

Yes, it’s a real tricky one for me, and I forget to give Noah the vit D drops more than I care to admit to…

I’d not heard of these products before so nice to read a review. And somewhat off topic but in response to your comment above; Much as I advocate vit d for little ones as per NHS advice I also am far from perfect at actually giving it.

We reviewed these a while ago and i loved them as they were so gentle on my little ones skin. However we never used the sun cream as i reviewed them in winter x

They’re very gentle products. The sunscreen I did try in winter when I was in Chicago in -32’C as I thought it might be a bit moisturising. The cold is so drying.
